Political ‘Attack Watch’ Website Backfires

A campaign website asking for people to submit evidence of smears and inaccurate attacks against its candidate looks to be backfiring shortly after being introduced.

“Attack Watch” is designed obstensively to provide a resource for the Obama for America organization to respond to negative comments and “smears” with accurate information.

The site has been roundly criticized already and potentially serves as an example of the downside of designing a site to be populated by user generated content. As critic Tommy Christopher of Mediaite noted sarcastically of the site, “Great. Sounds like a terrific content-generating resource for right-wing bloggers, too. Everybody wins!”
